The Northshore Community is gathering together in an attempt to raise enough funds to place a sculpture at the corner of Frazier avenue and Woodland Street in front of Walgreens.
The benefit is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at hair a go-go salon, 307 Manufacturers Road, suite 204, right across from Rock Creek Outfitters.
A Holiday Art walk to benefit the project is also set for Friday. The second annual holiday art walk is set for 5 to 8 p.m. and will begin on Frazier Avenue go to 2 North Shore and return back to Frazier Avenue. A percentage of proceeds from the art walk will benefit the art project. The benefits for the art project began awhile ago and will continue until enough funds are raised.
The Northshore public art project is an art in the neighborhood initiative administered by Public art Chattanooga. Art In The Neighborhood is a program designed to assist community groups in generating public arts projects in neighborhoods throughout Chattanooga by providing matching grants through the Lyndhurst foundation.
